Georgia Rooney
August 25, 1937 ~ January 24, 2021 (age 83) Obituary
Georgia Rooney, 83 of Sauk Centre, formerly of Belgrade, died peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, January 24, 2021 at her daughter's home near Sauk Centre. Mass of Christian Burial will be private at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Burial will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery in Belgrade. A public celebration of Georgia's life will be held a later date when it's safe to gather. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade. Georgia was born August 25, 1937, at the family farm near Elrosa, to Veronica (Laubach) and Joseph Felling. She was united in marriage to Gerald Rooney on January 21, 1956. Georgia was a loving wife and mother; her family was her vocation. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Georgia was always a supportive friend, and an active part of her community. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Christian Mothers and a devout member of the Church. An avid gardener, her flowers were her artist's palette! Georgia will be missed by her six children and their spouses, Rick (Sandy) Rooney, Hayward, WI, Robin (John) Rooney-Rongitsch, Maple Grove, RoxAnne (Robert) Petterson, Black River Falls, WI, RaMona (Albert) Gruber, Sauk Centre, Rodney (Lora) Rooney, Ammon, Idaho, and Russ (Shelly) Rooney, Guthrie, OK; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Delores Handeland and Dorothy Unger; sisters-in-law, Norene (Rooney) Miller, Sharon (Rooney) Beske, and Brothers-in-Law, Phillip (Jeannie) Rooney, David (Karen) Rooney, and Daniel (Jude) Rooney. |
