Shared note	Jason R. Rooney, age 33, of Las Vegas, NV, and formerly of Starbuck, M N, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at his home. Funeral s ervices will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 26, at Indherred Luther an Church in Starbuck. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 - 7 P M at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood, and will continu e one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Indhe rred Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funera l Home of Glenwood. Jason Robert Rooney, son of Karen Aubart (Majerus) and Daniel Rooney , was born on July 11, 1981, in Alexandria, MN. He was baptized on Au gust 2, 1981, at St. Donatus in Brooten, and confirmed on April 28, 19 96 at Indherred Lutheran. Growing up on a farm near Starbuck, Jason w as involved in Boy Scouts and 4-H. He attended Starbuck Elementary Sc hool before graduating from Minnewaska High School in 1999. Followin g graduation, Jason attended St. Cloud Technical School in St. Cloud , receiving a degree in Auto Body repair. He worked various jobs arou nd the St. Cloud area before moving to Brooten to accept a position a s a team leader with Bayer Built Woodworks in Belgrade. In 2011, Jaso n started his own business with Justin Brower called "Unique Finishin g and Painting". In 2013, Jason moved to Las Vegas, NV, with his soul -mate, Heather Schmitz, to begin a new adventure. For the past 1 ¢ ye ars he has been employed doing security for El Cortez Casino. Jason was an avid MN Vikings fan and great sports statistician. He a lso enjoyed playing poker and was a professional sport's better. He w ill be remembered by those who knew him as kind, caring, loving, thoug htful and patient. He is survived by his soul-mate, Heather Schmitz of Las Vegas, NV; mot her and step-father, Karen and Larry Aubart of Starbuck, MN; sister, A my (Jason) VanZee of Glenwood, MN; brothers, Patrick (Nicole) Rooney o f Glenwood, Nick Aubart of Big Lake, and Russ (Angie Wuornos) Aubart o f Zimmerman; his beloved nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Jason was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Rooney in 2014; hi s paternal grandparents; and his maternal grandmother. Blessed be the memory of Jason Rooney.
