Mildred Catherine Shaw, a native and lifelong Fort Worth resident, passed away on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, in her 86th year. Mass of Christian Burial, 1 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Fort Worth. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 p.m. Thursday with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole. Mildred was born Oct. 23, 1927, the third daughter of John and Julia Shaw, a pioneer Fort Worth dairy family. She was a graduate of Harris Hospital Nursing School and for many years ran Shaw's Sanitarium with her mother, then carried on after her mother's death. Mildred was a longtime member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, where she served as an extraordinary minister of Communion. Prior to that, she was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Nora Margaret Stinnett and Lillian Marie Shaw; and her nephew, Michael Eugene Stinnett. Survivors: Niece, Julia Margaret Hummert and husband, Steve, of Grandview, and their children, Katherine Nors and Michael Hummert, along with their spouses and children; nephews, Christopher Stinnett of Dallas, and Martin Stinnett of Crowley; and brother-in-law, Gene Stinnett of Crowley, formerly of Fort Worth.
