Leona Vincore and her twin sister Lucille were born to Frank William Vinecore and Agatha Darcy Vinecore. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lucille, and and one grandson, Patrick Daniel Hogan.

Leona Ann Wienecke
(1926 - 2013)

Leona was born on February 26, 1926 in Willamina, OR; the oldest of identical twin daughters of Frank William and Agatha (Darcy) Vinecore. She passed away on August 6, 2013 from kidney and respiratory failure at the age of 87.

Growing up, she lived in California, Oregon, Washington and Montana. She graduated from Billings High School (Montana) in 1944. During WWII she worked at Boeing. She also worked for a time at the Bon MarchÚ and Coast-to-Coast. After her family was raised, she went back to school and received her Beautician Certification. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eugene for 67 years.

Leona married Milbert (Mel) Wienecke on June 11, 1946 in Eugene, OR. They were married for 66 years. Mel preceded her in death on December 29, 2012. Survivors include: 4 children (and spouses): Nanci Hogan of Eugene; Alice (John) Brooks of Coburg; Patricia (Bill) Tackett of Springfield; Jim (Kathy) Wienecke of Eugene; 10 grandchildren: Mike Hogan, Mikalan Krause, Curtis Brooks, Sarah Booth, Duane Tackett, Lisa Rangel, Kelly Blodgett, Kevin Wienecke, Kyle Wienecke, & Bonnie Buck; 14 great-grandchildren: Cornell, Gwen, Clarece and Jacquelyn Krause; Ryan and Jacob Brooks, Madeleine, Kathryn, Allison and Jillian Booth, Katy Warner, Nicole Rangel, Desmond Wienecke and Dalton Blodgett; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Leona was an accomplished seamstress and could sew anything. She made most of her girls clothes when they were growing up?sometimes from a picture they gave her or from a drawing. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a member of the Friendship Club and past member of a square dance club. She also liked to play Bridge and Pinochle. She loved to travel and took several cruises and many trips to Alaska to visit her twin sister. After Mel retired, she and Mel spent their winters in Mexico and/or Yuma AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her twin sister, Lucille King, and one grandson, Patrick Daniel Hogan.She requested no service be held. Leona was cremated and her ashes buried at West Lawn Memorial Gardens in Eugene.
