BELGRADE, Minn. - Audrey M. Rooney, 92, Hawick, Minn., died Sunday, June 7, in Belgrade Nursing Home.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville, Minn. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 11, at the church. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Regal, Minn.

Audrey M. Rooney, 92 of Hawick, died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Belgrade Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 11, 2015 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. A visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church and for one hour prior to mass. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Regal. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville.

Audrey Marie Rooney was born July 23, 1922 in Lastrup, MN the daughter of Bernard and Mary (Spaeth) Rose. She grew up on the family farm near Belgrade and graduated from the Belgrade High School in the class of 1940. On September 7, 1944, Audrey was united in marriage to Harvey Rooney at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church. They made their home in Belgrade until moving to Hawick in 1970. Audrey and Harvey were able to share in 40 years of marriage before his death on October 22, 1984. She continued to live in Hawick where she worked part-time for Gils Store. Audrey was an active member St. Francis deSales, St. Antony's and St. Louis Catholic Churches. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed flowers, reading, baking and needle work.

Audrey died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Belgrade Nursing Home at the age of 92. She is survived by her children, Sharon (Ronald) Hanson, Carol Engh (special friend, Dick), Darrell (Joy) Rooney, Darlene (John) Roelike, Richard (Kathy) Rooney, Duane (Liz) Rooney and Mary Hedtke (fiancÚ, Steve); fifteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; three brothers and five sisters.
