He was born in Brooten, MN on April 18, 1930, a son of the late John T. and Ethel (Redmond) Rooney. Loving husband of Sharon L. (Bems). Beloved father of Susan (Darrell) Fischer and Shannon (Thomas) Hanson. Dear brother of Evie (the late George) Kukowski, Rita (Charles) Bruders and Sheila (Dennis) Barry. Loving grandfather of Michelle, Joseph, John "Jack" and Ally. John was proud Korean War Veteran. Memorial visitation Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 11 to 12 Noon in the chapel at ALEXIAN VILLAGE (9301 N. 76th Street, Milwaukee). A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon. Military honors will follow. Final rest will be in the Veteran's Cemetery in Union Grove. Rooney, John T. "Tom" Passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 two weeks before his 86th birthday. Tom was an Army veteran who served in Korea during the war. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed football, golf and NASCAR.
