Frances Techla Raden

Frances Techla Raden, age 89, longtime Puyallup resident, died November 7, 1996 at her home. She was born May 4, 1907 in St. Rose, Minnesota. She moved her family to the Puyallup area in 1943. She and her late husband William owned and operated a berry and chicken farm for many years on South Hill. Frances was a long time member of St. John of the Woods Catholic Church and was an active member of the Association for Retarded Citizens group.

She was preceded in death by her husband William; son Edward and granddaughter Angela.

Survivors include 4 sons James, Richard (wife Lynette), Kenneth and Charles (wife Dodie); daughters-in-law Colleen and Sharon; 4 daughters Ione Raden, Viola Marcoe (husband Harold), Mary Ann Fortier (husband Gus) and Linda Raden, 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren,

Rosary services will be held Mon. at 7pm and Funeral Mass on Tues. at 10am both in St. John of the Woods Catholic Church, 9903 24th Ave. E., Tacoma. Burial will follow at 3pm in Woodbine Cemetery, Arrangements by Powers Funeral Home, Puyallup, 845-0536. Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Hospital Dialysis Unit.
