Robert James BATTERBERRY 6/24/1938 ~ 10/29/2009 Bob was born in Willmar, MN to James and Blanche (Blondin) Batterberry. The family moved to WA in 1952 settling in Burien. After graduating from Highline High School in 1956 he attended the University of WA then transferring to Western WA State College in Bellingham, where he obtained his BA and a Master Degree in Education. He taught electronics at Renton High School; Computer Instructor for Univac in St Paul, MN, traveling to Military bases; electronics and developing the Computer Science Program at Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon, WA; retiring in 1983 after suffering a stroke. Bob enjoyed mountain climbing, hiking, camping, riding his motorcycle, ham radio (KE7RP), collecting antique tractors and farm machinery. He is survived by his wife Mary (Kastel) of 49 years; sons Jim (Alejandra), Kevin (Lisa); brothers Daniel, Stephan, David (Leslie); sister Barbara (Richard) Whaley; grandchildren Sean, Emily, Devon, and Dustin. |
