Dr. Harry M. Wenner, 90, St. Cloud, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at th e St. Cloud Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, August 1, at Church of th e Holy Spirit in St. Cloud with Rev. Thomas Knoblach officiating.

Arrangements were by Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Harry Merton Wenner was born February 3, 1925, in Roseau to Algot an d Louise (Mork) Lindberg. He graduated from Roseau High School in 194 3 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served as a Radio Technician aboar d the USS Estes, a Navy command ship, during WWII. He took part in th e battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and was discharged in 1946.

Harry married Pfeninger August 18, 1953, in Villard. He earned a Bache lor of Science degree from Gustavus Adolphus taught at St. Charles, an d was Principal in Villard, Floodwood, and Grand Rapids before movin g to St Cloud in 1962. As Assistant Superintendent for District 742 sc hools, he earned a MasterÆs degree and Ed.D. in education from the Uni versity of Minnesota. After 35 years in education Harry was an agent f or Atkins Insurance.

Harry was president of Sertoma, member of Toast Masters, St. Cloud Eag les Aerie #622, the VFW Post #428, and American Legion Post #76, and p ast Commander of the American Legion Post #175 in Villard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Lambert Wenner ; and brother, Winton Wenner.
