Paul E. Zehren, 50, of Watertown, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at UW Hospital in Madison.

Paul Edward was born in Watertown on Oct. 16, 1961, son of Robert and Audrey (Cowen) Zehren.

On June 7, 2002, Paul married the former Ruth Fritze.

He had been employed at Watertown Ace Hardware for over 20 years. Paul then took over Nienow Locksmith, which then became Paul's Locksmith. Paul enjoyed spending time with the family, gardening and playing the drums. He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, a member of the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce and on occasion, volunteered at a local soup kitchen.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Watertown; his father and stepmother, Robert and Kathy Zehren; his children, Eric (fiancÚ, Kristin Buss) Zehren of Johnson Creek; Eric (Kaley) Fuchs of Johnson Creek; James (Lynn Filenius) Zehren of Watertown; April Zehren of Watertown; Jacob Zehren of Watertown; Nicholas Fuchs of Watertown; Travis Zehren of Watertown; five grandchildren, Zaida, Laila, Emry, Adrian and Ella Zehren; his sister, Lynda (George) VanDrel of Escanaba, Mich.; his brothers, Dennis Zehren of Watertown and John (Doreen) Zehren of Watertown, along with nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Audrey and Edward Boltz and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley and Dave Fritze. The funeral service for Paul will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, with the Rev. James Werner officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects on Tuesday at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials to the family would be greatly appreciated.
