Ann J. Cowen SUN PRAIRIE - Ann J. Cowen, 81, died on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born on Oct. 1, 1926, in Waterloo and was the daughter of John and Mary (Sherrow) Gassen. She married Patrick Cowen in Waterloo on Sept. 6, 1948. She is survived by her children, Michael (Beverly) Cowen of Beaver Dam, Karen (Theodore) Maasch of Las Vegas, Nev., Christine (William) Woolever of Pardeeville, Patrick (Barbara) Cowen of Sun Prairie, Mary Kopmeyer of Princeton, Iowa, Colleen Serra of Chewelah, Wash., Virginia (Jon) Robinson of Pardeeville, Theresa (John) Kruse of Sun Prairie, and Craig Cowen of Sun Prairie; a daughter-in-law, Lois Cowen of Madison; 33 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Dantuma of Watertown and Martha Randall of Beloit. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Dennis; and a granddaughter, Maryanna Maasch. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, with Father Michael Radowicz officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Hearts Cemetery, Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Wednesday. A rosary will be held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to thank the staff at Meadowmere Assisted Living for the care of Pat and Ann and St. Mary's Hospital M.I.C.U. for the love and care for Ann. |
