Herbert Coenen, 88, De Pere died peacefully with his family by his side on Monday night, October 18, 2010 at a local nursing home. Herb was born on November 10, 1921 in De Pere to Frank and Lena (Albers) Coenen. On January 6, 1947 he married the former Beatrice Gerarden the love of his life. He served his country for five and a half years as a paratrooper during World War II in the South Pacific. He volunteered for the first Army experimental paratroop unit while it was still in its infancy. Herbert worked for Nicolet Paper Company from 1945 until his retirement in 1983. He will be remembered for great things, especially for how much he loved his whole family. Herb was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish. |
