Lucy married William Smith of Rolla, MT in Helena, MT in October 1917. She met him when she went into the shoe store where he worked in Helena, MT. Apparently, it was love at first sight because she quickly invited him out to the ranch. They moved to Boise, ID after their marriage and he worked in a shoe store there. Their first daughter, Mary Lou was born there. They then moved to Pocatello, ID where he managed a shoe store for the same people he worked for in Boise. The other three children were born there. William eventually owned two shoe stores at different times in Pocatello. In 1952, they moved to Long Beach. Both are buried in All Souls cemetery in Pocatello.. |
