Alice Louise Flach Fieber, 88, of Sebeka, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena. She was a resident at the Heritage House of Sebeka. She was born to Emil and Ethel (Rooney) Straus on June 20, 1919, in Sanborn, N.D. She attended Sanborn School. In 1939, she married Manferd Flach at the Sacred Heart Church in Sanborn. Manferd died in 1955, and in the following year, she moved to Valley City, N.D., with her six children and was employed by Mercy Hospital. She married Leo Fieber in 1975 and they resided in Valley City until his death in 1995. She moved to Sebeka in 1999 to be with her daughter and son-in-law, Caren and Charles Winkels. She was a devoted wife and mother, dedicating her life to the care of others. Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, May 31, at St. Hubert's Catholic Church in Blue Grass, with the Rev. Michael Kellogg officiating. Pallbearers were William Winkels, Wayne Winkels, James Winkels, Jeffrey Anduza, Raymond Andre' Flach, Raymond Johnathon Flach, Raymond Michael Flach, Janelle Bannerman, Theresa Muchewicz, Melissa Flach, Eric Flach, Daniel Flach and Christine Layner. Honorary pallbearers were her 24 great-grandchildren. Interment was June 1 at St. Catherine Cemetery, Valley City, N.D. Arrangements were entrusted to Wevley Funeral Home of Sebeka. Survivors include her children, Caren (Charles) Winkels of Sebeka, Ethel Beerer of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, Patricia (Malcolm) Woodworth of Payson, Ariz., Raymond (Justine) Flach of Warrensburg, Mo., John (Janet) Flach and Terry Lynn (Diane) Flach of Longmont, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a brother, Edward (Marlene) Straus of Wahpeton, N.D. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Manferd Flach and Leo Fieber; two grandchildren; sisters, Monica Wolski and Louella Kelly; and brothers, Stanley and Louis Straus.
